This application excels in planning or recording tours and other multi-stop journeys. For users concerned about battery usage while tracking their location, PlanARoute provides an innovative solution: by capturing photos at significant points during your journey, the app can accurately plot them on a map and generate a detailed route that includes addresses, distances, and directions derived from those images.

Included within the app are two example tour routes—New York and Central Park—that effectively showcase its features. Users can easily explore and interact with these example tours to familiarize themselves with the app's functionalities and use them as templates for creating customized routes.

 <li>Add locations by interacting with the map, selecting addresses from your Contacts or Favorites, or typing in an address.</li>
 <li>Incorporate locations based on photos stored on your device or in iCloud.</li>
 <li>View a slideshow of any photos taken during your route.</li>
 <li>Display order, address, and distance for each location on the map.</li>
 <li>Show locations on the map without including them in the route path.</li>
 <li>Attach images and notes to locations for easy saving in a Favorites library.</li>
 <li>Add location information directly to your Contacts address book.</li>
 <li>Modify or reverse the order of locations as needed.</li>
 <li>Generate both visual and textual directions with distance and time estimates for each route.</li>
 <li>Select distance units—miles or kilometers—as per preference.</li>
 <li>Display the distance from your current location to any pin on the map.</li>
 <li>Provide a scale of miles/kilometers at the top of your map for reference.</li>
 <li>Include compass orientation and directional heading (iPhone and iPad only).</li>
 <li>Choose between standard, satellite, and hybrid map views.</li>
 <li>Open individual locations in Apple Maps or Google Maps if installed on your device.</li>
 <li>Create elevation charts for selected routes if desired.</li>
